Hightown Primary School

Clubs

We offer a wide range of after school clubs each week for children from all year groups.

Football Club

Football Club is run by Mr Stobbart on a Monday after school for children in Years 4, 5 and 6.

In Football Club, we look to use the ‘game as the teacher’ giving the children lots of opportunities to practice their skills in a game setting. This provides the children the chance to practise their individual skills such as control, dribbling, passing and shooting. Using the game as the teacher allows the pupils to access their decision making and how they can be more effective both as an individual but also as a team.

Arts and Crafts

Arts and Crafts Club is run by Miss Arnett on a Monday after school for children in both key stages.
We have fun exploring different materials and mediums to create our Art work.  We enjoy creating themed artwork such as Autumn leaf pictures, spooky witches' hats and firework paintings!  We don’t mind getting messy with paints or trying methods we are unfamiliar with.

Dance Club

Dance Club is run by Superstar Sports on a Monday after school for children in KS2.

Multi-Sports

Multi-Sports Club is run by Saints on a Monday after school for children in Years 1,2,3.

Choir

Choir club is run by Ms Lenney on a Tuesday after school for children in both key stages.
At Choir club, we have so much fun learning about how to warm up our bodies and voices. We work on growing our confidence through performance and develop our musical skill.  We learn about the different aspects of music such as pitch, tone, melody and lyrics. We love learning lots of pieces from different genres, especially songs from well known musicals such as Matilda and Annie!

Mindfulness and Relaxation

Mindfulness and Relaxation Club is run by Miss Allen after school on a Tuesday for children in Years 1,2,3,4.

At Mindfulness and Relaxation Club, we explore ways to relax, perform mindfulness and express our emotions in an effective and healthy way. We enjoy discussing our week and any worries we may have had, as well as performing activities such as mindfulness colouring to provide us with reflection and calm time.

Gymnastics

Gymnastics Club is run by Superstar Sports after school on a Tuesday for children in both key stages.

Fitness and Circuits

Fitness and Circuits is run by Miss Tucker on a Thursday after school for children in KS2.

At Fitness Club, we have lots of fun doing different workouts to music. We experiment with lots of different cardio and strength exercises to build up our fitness.

Basketball

Basketball Club is run by Superstar Sports after school on a Thursday for children in Years 4,5,6.

Stage School

Stage School is run by Mr Upfold on a Friday after school for children in KS2.

Lights... Camera... Action....!  Stage School is a fantastic opportunity for children to develop their skills in singing, dancing and acting. We play games, we learn songs and we act.  Each year there are two main productions: one at Christmas and one in the summer. From short plays to full scale productions, Stage School develops children’s teamwork, creativity and confidence and is an exciting and popular club – perfect for the end of the week!
