Historical events
The Pupil Leadership Team from across the Trust met today at Hightown. They were very lucky to welcome a very special visitor, the Lord Mayor of Southampton, into school for their meeting. The children learnt all about the roles and responsibility of the Lord Mayor, including her ceremonial duties attending events all over the City. The children also importantly learnt about democracy and the traditions of the Mayor which dated back hundreds of years ago. The children prepared a range of questions for the Lord Mayor and enjoyed listening to her responses. Well done to Jamal and Sama, our Head Boy and Head Girl, for hosting the meeting and welcoming the other children and staff members (including Mrs Lowe, CEO) to Hightown. I was extremely proud of the responsibility that they showed.
