Phonics 

At Hightown, we follow the Read Write Inc Phonics Programme.  Read Write Inc is a systematic, synthetic phonics programme that teaches children how to read.  Children are taught individual sounds and are taught how to apply this in their reading.  They read books that are closely matched to the sounds that they have been taught.
